The Acoustic Remote Sensing group has expertise on the following fields:

• Acoustic signal processing for imaging and diagnosis purposes;
• Physical modelling of wave phenomena, in particular acoustic propagation and scattering in complex media, such as the atmosphere;
• Mathematic optimisation methods, such as ‘simulated annealing’ and ‘genetic algorithms’ for parameter estimation and optimal design
• Setting up and conducting (acoustic) experiments and corresponding data processing.
  

Based on this expertise the ACRS chair participates in (international) research projects and in the education at the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering.
