PhD application requirements
University qualifications
Applicants should have a Master’s degree in a subject closely related to the subject of the research project. Preference will be given to applicants who belong among the top 10% of their cohort.
English language proficiency
Proof of English-language proficiency is not mandatory but it will enhance your chances if you have at least TOEFL 80 (internet based TOEFL) or IELTS (academic version) overall Band score 6.0, particularly if you are a non-EU national and come from a non-English speaking university.
Selection
We select only from the strongest applicants who are not only able to show evidence of academic excellence but also research motivation, dedication and the ability to work in a research team. The motivation letter you submit with your application should include a description of where your strengthes lie, for example, theory, simulation, instrumentation, experiments etc and in what specific scientific and/or engineering areas.
