Thesis subjects

The Master's Thesis Project (AE5-006; 42 ECTS credits in total) takes place at the end of the second year of the MSc in aerospace engineering and covers a period of approximately 6-7 months. Students have to carry out an individual project to round off the Aerospace Engineering programme. The SSE student is requested to choose a thesis project that is in line with the research of the chair. When choosing a project, a balance is strived for between the student's preference(s) and the current research subject(s) of the chair, also with an eye to internal and external supervision possibilities. In many cases, the student will be given the opportunity to prepare himself for the thesis work by performing a literature research (AE4-005), which may end with a research proposal.

The grading of the (quality of the) thesis project will include elements like depth, independence, analytical ability, scientific and/or technical argumentation, quality of the written report (in English), and oral presentation and defense. Students are encouraged to prepare an external publication on their work.
